This is probably one of those books which I had read years back and has stayed with me, TILL DATE. The ending is literally 💔, two lovers did not end up together and their children suffer because of their choices. Heathcliff has loved Catherine (I know) but it becomes so much of obsession that you will start hating him at one point. Catherine is a darling 😙, she, too, loves him, but does not stand up for her love. This is cowardice, yeah, I too felt it, but no, this is just what reality looks like. She wanted safety and Heathcliff could not provide that to her back then. Then there is Edgar and his sister. Nothing for him but I felt so bad for his sister who had married Heathcliff because she loved him deeply 🥺 but he is such a bastard for so badly hurting her 😤. And the climax, their kids are not together as well (Cathy and Hareton), all thanks to Heathcliff 😤. Read it and I guarantee that it will definitely be that book which “touches” you.
